Why should I get Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance?
Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance is straightforward, affordable insurance that can help protect you and your family when the unexpected happens. Unlike life insurance, it covers you in the event of an injury that results from an accident. AD&D can be a helpful safeguard against the burden of costs associated with injury or death from an accident by providing you and your family with funds when you need them most.
You can sign up in just a few minutes with no health questions and no medical exam.
AD&D can help you prepare for future expenses, whether they’re hospital bills, your mortgage or even your kids’ college funds. Your AD&D insurance benefits can be there for them even if you can’t be.
We’re here to help you prepare for the unexpected. Enroll in AD&D insurance today.
Product and features may not be available in all states or with all credit unions.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance pays a cash benefit if you die in a covered accident. It also pays benefits for covered injuries caused by an accident, including loss of eyesight, hearing, or speech, or the loss of a hand, foot, eye, thumb or index finger. You can use this money to cover any expenses you have while you focus on recovery.
AD&D is not life insurance, but it can be a good complement to life insurance, enhancing your overall protection and adding coverage for specific injuries from accidents.
You can choose coverage amounts between $10,000 and $500,000.
Yes! If you opt to pay the monthly premium for an Additional Coverage amount, you can also protect your spouse and dependent children at a slightly higher cost when you add the Family Plan.
The Family Plan can cover your spouse for 50 percent and/or your children for 20 percent of the coverage amount you choose. Some features may vary by state.
Your no-cost AD&D insurance lasts as long as you remain a member of a participating credit union or until you decide to terminate it.
Your Additional Coverage lasts as long as you’re a member of a participating credit union and pay your premiums.
Purchasing Additional Coverage includes the Increasing Benefit, which means the value of the Additional Coverage automatically increases each year by 5 percent for up to a total of 50 percent over 10 years, at no added cost to you. For example, a $100,000 Additional Coverage amount would be $150,000 after 10 years of being active.
From age 18 to 69, your coverage can’t decrease for any reason. At age 70, however, the full amount of coverage you have will decrease by 50 percent. Some features may vary by state.
